Steampunk is a term that denotes an era or world where steam power is widely used. The category includes any recent science fiction that takes place in a recognizable historical period where the Industrial Revolution has already begun but electricity is not yet widespread. It emphasizes the use of steam or spring-propelled gadgets.

Avatrian’s version is an interpretation of the neo-Victorian Steampunks. Copper is one of the most commonly seen elements. And Avatrian used a copper-colored texture to capture the historical and scientific feel in the islands. Steampunk has the gear as its most classic symbol. So we used it as shapes for the terrain to represent the genre.

The Steampunk Terrain is part of The Terrain Factory product line by Avatrian. It is available in .raw terrain file format ready for upload into a Second Life simulator.
