Fluke, you are most welcome! I am glad you enjoyed it :) Feel free to use as you wish. This background is in Chakryn forest in SL btw..I will often take my own backgrounds and use them in different pics. The light is mainly the forest light, but I added a few light beams on my own in softer pink tones. I find that using a very light pink light really makes objects look softer and shimmery.
the process for this is pretty basic.. cut out the object I wanted *smiles* and then pasted it onto the desired background. Then, I usually overlay the same image twice, to add some depth and contrast. I play with the shadow/highlight feature in PS to see if it accentuates it, if so, I use it.I always use Gaussian blur on the top image before I overlay, it softens things wonderfully.  Then I usually will use a texture to overlay and gaussian blur that if necessary to add more depth still. The light brushes are from Deviant Art and you can find them easily. If you want the texture I used its called "doriath" by Max F. Williams in Flickr...free to use :)
