About Archetype

What is an archetype? To me the best description comes from Borges, to paraphrase again, a prototype idea personified whose virtues do not diminish with time.

Some examples could be Explorer, warrior, caregiver, adventurer, and on and on. But, sorry to pick on Batman...for example, Batman is not an archetype. He is a specific person, but his virtues comes from one or more archetypes, as in Hero, or defender.
