Only 768X1024 Images

Only 768x1024 (portrait mode) images are accepted in this group.

The following are some tips to take high resolution pics in Second Life. Some of the tips are by the artist Trixibelle

1. In order to make high res: 768x1024 pics the best way is to have a large file to start with.

Then, when you take the snapshot in Second Life, setup in the preferences of snapshot popup, the width and height of the snapshot. Select at least 1024 for the height, and as consequence you will see that the width will be even much higher, because the snapshot size generally fit the screen size of your pc.

Once you have taken the snapshot, you can cut with a photoediting tool. You must end with a picture 1024 height and 768 width

2. It is good to take as high a res as your pc can handle in sl because of quality issues also. To do this 1) ensure that you have your Advanced menu active (CTRL ALT D) and then from this menu ensure that High Res Snapshots to disk is selected. 2) take your snapshot, select the "more" button and then select your image size from the menu. For me I have to maintain the proportions of the screen or I get strange things happening. Keep playing to see what is the largest size your computer can handle. You can then recrop in an editing suite but it will mean you have far more flexibility and you won't get those nasty jagged edges on your shots.
