Hi Pier :-), here is my pileup:http://www.koinup.com/antonella/work/57468/
In I-photo I cropped the original image and played with saturation till I eliminated the statue. I felt the focus was the distance between the two male figures, could be the same guy actually, you said surreal Pier and it made me think either that the first guy was looking intently at the second one or that that he was looking at/thinking of an image of himself. Then in Photoshop, from Filter I chose Stylize and from there, Diffuse.
